Bubble tea, also known as boba tea or pearl milk tea, is a popular drink originated from Taiwan in the 1980s. The drink normally consists of tea, milk and ‘bubbles’ which are usually tapioca pearls. For a good quality bubble tea, the tea must be smooth, rich in flavour and refreshing whilst the tapioca pearls have the right amount chewiness.

Some popular bubble tea flavours include Taro, Classic Black Tea, Matcha, Mango, Thai, Honeydew, Vanilla and Strawberry. You could find all the above flavours at Moriyama Teahouse.

The bubbles, also known as tapioca pearls, are made from the starch of the cassava root. The tapioca pearls are normally sold uncooked since it is hard to keep the cooked pearls still bouncy and chewy. At Moriyama Teahouse we have mastered the recipe. All our tapioca pearls are cooked which means no need to cook them for 20 mins on the stove! Simply heat them for 10 seconds in a microwave and they can be added to the bubble tea. They contain no preservatives and are also gluten free.

Milk Tea Powders are blended mixtures that you can simply add water to, to make ready to drink bubble teas. Our blends are a great balance between tea, dairy and flavours for truly authentic tastes. The powders can also be used to make desserts and bakery.

We have travelled extensively across Taiwan, to bring to our customers the most authentic bubble tea recipes. All our products are made with high quality ingredients that contain no preservatives and zero trans fat. We work with suppliers whom have over 20 years of experience in making bubble tea products – the same products that are used in bubble tea shops across Taiwan and internationally. Yes. All our tapioca pearls and milk tea powders are gluten free.

Our powders contain milk derivatives which include sodium caseinate and whey. All products are manufactured in a facility that processes other products which may contain wheat, almonds, mustard and sesame. Hence may contain traces of all of the above.

No. None of our products contain preservatives.

Store the products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the powders in an airtight container once opened and consume the instant tapioca pearls immediately once opened.
